Rorschach Chandelier
by artist Casey Curran

A five-foot by eight-foot kinetic sculpture that is activated by motors and an app, elevating the chandelier’s multiple planes of colorful Rorschach shapes in a myriad of three dimensional forms. An app developed for the sculpture allows residents to enter their personality through data and activate the chandelier into their own personal sculpture.

Seattle artist Casey Curran makes sculptures move by creating ingenious kinetic art pieces that engage the viewer to interact with the work, whether a hand crank or through a smart phone app. Casey is interested in examining the impulse that humans have to go out and create things and how that impulse is connected to our need to leave a legacy behind long after we have disappeared.
